We’re working with drone manufacturers and users in Australia and New Zealand to trial Lightway. We’re growing fast and planning to make this technology - and its future applications - available globally.
Please get in touch if you’d like to learn more about a Lightway demo.
We’re happy to answer your questions and provide more detail and information, including our white paper. Please get in touch so we can help.

Yes, as long as it’s done with sufficient safety protocols and rigorous testing.
Safety is our highest priority, so Lightway uses a unique three-tier lock system. This involves sending a low-power safety beam to confirm a 100% lock with the receiver. This has to be achieved before a higher power beam can follow.
Safety will remain our highest priority as we scale Lightway’s technology from drones to other uses. We will engineer robust solutions to the challenges of transmitting light beams over longer distances.
Lightway’s Sunflower ground module requires electricity. Technically, this can come from any source, such as a generator plugged into the grid or a solar battery. We prefer it to come from a renewable source because this fits our larger goal of scaling the Lightway technology to the point that it completely changes how energy works, helping the world transition to renewables much faster.
Lightway is the first step towards our larger goal of completely changing the world’s energy system.
With Lightway, we’re proving that light beam technology can be used safely and effectively to charge drones in the air.
Next, we plan to scale this technology to charge faster, higher electric aircraft, then satellites in space and eventually, to build a global energy network of light. Our ultimate goal is for this wireless network to beam clean, affordable power through space to anywhere on Earth.
We’re working with drone manufacturers and users in Australia and New Zealand to trial Lightway. The specifics of each demo vary depending on who we’re working with and how they use drones. If you’re interested in a demo, please get in touch, and we can discuss your requirements and answer your questions.
